I'm interested in the way organizations contribute to meaning, and have measured (or mapped, I suppose) meanings using a sort of quantified symbolic boundaries approach. I've also used survey-type data to re-construct the meaning of musical taste. Finally, and most currently, I'm interested in getting more out of more political survey data by re-conceptualizing the way we make sense of respondent's answers. (Public Opinion researchers use that Parsonian model in which people hold stable consistent value orientations that come either from "society" or "interests.")
I also co-ordinate the symbolic boundaries network which can be found at symbolicboundaries.net.
