On the days that we have a guest speaker, you can earn 1 Bonus Point by looking at the readings that are assigned in conjunction with that guest's visit, and writing a brief 1-2 paragraph comment/question.

Please email your TA with your question by 6PM on Tuesday (if the guest comes on Thursday, e.g., Friedland or Oliver) or by 6PM on Sunday if the guest visits on a Tuesday (e.g., Lerner) (see schedule). We will choose some of the best questions to ask our guest, so you should take this task seriously. You can also feel free to ask the questions in a more personal way, since the author is visiting with us. When you submit your question, tell us whether its OK to use your name and also whether you're OK with me calling on you to read the question to the guest yourself.

You can do this 2 times this quarter (see Bonus points explanation) (Note: that we have 3 guest speakers scheduled thsi quarter).

Each time you turn one of these questions in they will be evaluated by your TA. Most every question will earn a bonus point but we reserve the right to award no point if the question doesn't appear to reflect much effort or thought on your part.
