Lecturer Positions Available
Department of Sociology

Applications are invited for possible lecturer appointments for 2012-13 in the following areas: Social Stratification, Culture, Social Movements, Race/Ethnicity, Methods, Inequalities, and Feminist and Gender Studies. Appointments will be made on a quarter-to-quarter basis. Reappointment for subsequent quarters is dependent on performance and departmental needs.
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Sociology and be prepared to teach introductory courses, have an emphasis in one or more of the substantive areas noted above, and have at least one year of teaching experience. Salary is dependent on qualifications. Applications will be kept active for consideration for all appropriate vacancies within the department for two years. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreement. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through research, teaching and service. Positions are open until filled.
