New Faculty Member Welcome
The Department of Sociology is very pleased to welcome Sarah Thébaud who joined our faculty as Assistant Professor on July 1, 2012. Professor Thébaud received her Ph.D. in Sociology at Cornell University in August 2010 and recently completed a National Science Foundation and American Sociological Association Postdoctoral Fellowship in Princeton University’s Department of Sociology. Her research investigates how social psychological processes at the micro-level and institutional structures at the macro-level simultaneously reproduce particularly persistent forms of gender inequality in the economy, such as men’s overrepresentation in high-growth entrepreneurship, scientific research, and innovation. Often focusing on cross-cultural comparisons, her work integrates theory and methods in the areas of Gender, Economic Sociology, Organizations, Social Psychology, Families, and Work.
