women kissing other women at parties is so common and what connection it has to sexual identity. They found that, in addition to the common explanation that women do it to attract the attention of men, some women are experimenting and others are motivated by desire.  Experimentation in the heterosexual context of the hookup culture provides a safe space for some women to explore non-heterosexual possibilities.  But as presumably heterosexual women's options for physical intimacy are expanding, the line between lesbian and non-lesbian, whether bisexual or straight, remains firmly intact.
