Fetishism
Fetishism
Fetishism is a non-coercive paraphilia in which a person becomes sexually aroused by inanimate objects such as shoes or underwear. A fetishist often cannot become aroused without the object being present in fantasy or reality. Males are far more likely than females to develop fetishes (see link to diapers Q&A).
There are two different types of fetishes. In a form fetish, the object itself is important, be it shoes, underwear, or diapers. In a media fetish, the arousing factor is the material from which the fetish object is made. An example of a media fetish would be needing rubber or leather objects to become sexually aroused.
