If you fear for your safety or life, that is evidence enough that your partner is attempting to control you. Control is the main goal of most abusers who use strong-arm tactics to keep other people under their power. If your partner has hurt you in any way, physical or mental, and you fear for your safety, contact a local phone hotline or counseling service immediately. They can help you.
