Snorkeling/Scuba diving

Cost: $$ to $$$

Fun Factor: 8

Key Words: snorkel, snorkeling, scuba, scuba diving, scuba gear, snorkeling gear

Description: Snorkeling and scuba diving are very exciting activities. You get to feel like a human submarine as you are given a mask and a breathing apparatus. You can aimlessly explore the waters and see different varieties of fish, coral, and other marine life. When you snorkel, you are given a mask, fins, and a snorkel, which only allows you to stay at the surface of the water. But, with scuba gear, which includes a mask, oxygen tank, fins, optional wetsuit, plus various other equipment, you are allowed to swim freely through the water to depths of up to 200 feet. However, you must stay aware that nature has given us all types of creatures, and hungry marine animals aren't the happiest when strangers enter their habitats.

Pros: It doesn't cost you anything to enter the ocean.

Cons: If you don't live near an ocean or lake, you may not be able to enjoy this event. Also it can be dangerous. Scuba gear can be expensive, too.

Tips: Check the weather and tides before going out.
