Bio:
Seyma Ozdemir is a doctoral student in sociology. She received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Bogazici University, Istanbul, and a master’s degree in Sociology from Binghamton University (SUNY). Her research explores how contested citizenship politics and demographic categorizations function as apparatuses of control, surveillance, and coercion for marginalized populations from a global and historical perspective.
